I get some smokes and turning around
I’m surprised when I see your face
You ask me how long I’ve been back in town
So I say just a couple of days
You give me a cold hug You lift your arms
Then I see you walking away
You’ve been mine a thousand times

Up and down we cruised in town
I was blind now you’re gone away
I get a coffee then I look down
Two big eyes are pointing my way
A little boy is playing on the ground
With a smile that lights up my day
He walks on by his shoes are untied
Then he waves and fallows his friend
I take a deep breath and I calm down
‘cause this boy’s shown me nothing but grace
And I thought
If you were still mine we could have a child
We could get a car and a place to stay
But I’m in town walking around
Up and down trying to fix my days
I get my change take a sip from my glass
I’m ok but I feel kinda strange
I look around while I’m burning my tongue
I think Hey I’d better walk away
I say to myself I know a park in this town
I can go there it’s a beautiful place
I cross the street people driving around
They don’t care ‘bout the sunny day
One more block and I’ll be lying on the ground
I’ll find a spot to get some sun on my face
But I walk in and people are screaming loud
So I guess there’s no pace for today
I’m thinking
If you were still mine we’d have the time
To get bikes and ride’em there
Up and down the park in town
